For the Birds

birding hikes

Point Reyes is one of the world’s premier birding locations. With over 450 species recorded, this national park has more avian diversity than any other in the United States.

You will see wonderful birds everywhere! Caspian Terns, Brown and White Pelicans, Osprey, Great and Snowy Egrets, Plovers, Peregrine Falcons, Surf Scoters, Great Blue Herons, Northern Harriers, Red Tail Hawks, Kingfishers, Vireos or Brandt Geese, many of which seasonally travel through the park and others that make Point Reyes their year round home.

We are very fortunate to be able to enjoy this extraordinary habitat. Our naturalist will lead you through lush tidal marshes and along the open coast to discover and observe an amazing variety of species. Point Reyes is truly a birder’s paradise.
