Marine Mammal Discovery

Spring is a very special time of year in Drake's Estero, when hundreds of mama seals haul out on the beaches to bring their newborn pups into the world. The normally silent harbor seals grunt and bark as they absorb the heat from the sun, forage in the bay, nurse their young, and play in the waves. This protected sanctuary boasts one of the highest concentrations of harbor seals in all of California.

Share in this intimate experience with our biologist guides as we explore the breeding behavior and conservation of California's marine mammals. Take in breathtaking coastal vistas as we observe the seals, birds, and coastal habitats during a delightful stroll and picnic lunch.

We hope this magical day will allow you to relax and enjoy the bounties of Mother Nature.
