Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Managua. Meet your fellow travelers and PRO guides. Travel to Leon for dinner and a night in the city. Roam the avenues to Parque Central or head back to your hotel and enjoy the peace of night in your new home.

Day 2: Enjoy the morning in Leon...the sights and scents of open-air markets, the grandeur of churches, and the energy of the people. Learn about the history of our new away from home. In the afternoon, we travel 1-2 hours to the Padre Ramos Nature Reserve. Dinner and the Pacific Sunset await our arrival. Fall asleep on an isolated sandy beach to the sound of lapping water.

Days 3-4: Kayak. Hike. Rest. Explore. Swim. Giggle. Stretch/Yoga. Learn to Roll a Kayak. Read. Play Games. Sleep and dream with the stars. The Padre Ramos Nature Reserve is to more than 100 bird species and 3 kinds of sea turtles. An evening activity or discussion is sure to be had, if you want to join in.

Day 5: Savor breakfast on the beach and a morning paddle, before we return to our launch site. Travel 1-2 hours to Las Penitas and the Juan Venado Nature Reserve. Explore a new coastal community and sleep in a hotel within site of the Nature Reserve. Watch the evening ritual unwind around you, as the fishers return with their last catch of the day inside their homemade nets.

Day 6: Relax with a morning paddle into the Juan Venado Nature Reserve. Spot a crocodile off in the distance as well as scores of heron, ibis, and egrets. Hike, Rest. Explore. Learn. Stretch. Read. Camp on the beach and enjoy another epic sunset.

Day 7: Our final paddle together....Explore the heart of the Juan Venado Nature Reserve before we return to the community of Las Penitas for lunch. You haven't lived until you take the 20 minute bus ride back to Leon. Celebrate our week together with a final night out - dinner, live music, and fond farewells - to reminisce and savor the new friendships and memories.

Day 8: Travel from Leon to Managua, a well-rested, rejuvenated, and more enlightened individual.
