Sunset to Starlight

Point Reyes Sunset

The magic of Tomales Bay is never more evident than as the day comes to a close. It’s dinner time in the wild. Osprey and pelicans are out for the last catch of the day, seals head for a nice sheltered beach, and the business of the day subsides into a peaceful, gentle rhythm. The stillness and rocking of the water is instantly relaxing, washing away our cares. This is a time and place that can simply make you glad to be alive.

This paddle launches from Miller Park on Tomales Bay and meanders towards the western shore of the Point Reyes National Seashore. As the light in the sky begins to fade, we will find a comfortable beach from which to enjoy the sunset and treat ourselves to a mini-picnic of delicious desserts.

The moon may rise, the stars could come, or glowing bioluminescence could fill the water around us leaving trails of light as we paddle for home. No matter the time of year or the phase of the moon, Tomales Bay always offers us a magical experience.
