A naturalist led hike out to Tomales Point to observe and learn about this majestic species. We will share with you the history of the Tule elk in Point Reyes, their day to day lives, and how they survive and thrive in this sometimes harsh environment. This hike takes place atop the ridgeline with views of Tomales Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Join us in the fall when the males are bugling, posturing, and fighting over territory to maintain in order to defend their harem of females.
Share in this intimate experience with our biologist guides as we explore the breeding behavior and conservation of this California native species. Take in breathtaking coastal vistas as we observe the elk, birds, and coastal habitats during a delightful stroll and picnic lunch.
We hope this magical day will allow you to relax and enjoy the bounties of Mother Nature.
